SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for all aspects of business within aspecific production system which includes production of a high qualityproduct at the varies levels of the production system in a timely mannerwhile maintaining a safe work place and clean environment. Specificduties include producing cost savings ideas generation of CIRs an activerole in creating annual budget and detailed interaction with technicalservices concerning the genetic pyramid. Other responsibilities includedirecting and providing leadership to Team Members spending budgetingthe safety of all farm Team Members the biosecurity of the unit and farmand all environmental issues including pit and lagoon level compliancewater quality air quality and waste removal. Pod Business Managers areexpected to have a complete knowledge of the animal flow targetsventilation feeding and vaccination protocols. Other requirements areensuring customer satisfaction PQA and facility and dwellingmaintenance. Other duties include implementing and monitoring policiesand procedures including standard operating guidelines and humanresources policies and procedures; reporting production numbersenvironmental numbers safety issues accidents and human resources issuestimely and accurately as well as any other duties as needed.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor s degree or equivalent
Experience: 6 plus years of experience in live swine productionmanagement or live animal production operational management
Computer Skills: Standard computer skills including MicrosoftOffice; strong Excel skills is a plus
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communicationskills
Special Skills: Ability to build working relationships with TeamMembers and Contract Producers that foster open communication increasedproductivity and cost competitive products
Supervisory: This position is responsible for managing severalgroups of Team Members who perform somewhat diverse tasks in more thanone department
Travel: More than 12 domestic trips yearly.
