About Merchandising Category Analyst

  Our Opportunity:

  Chewy is hiring an Merchandising Category Analyst for our headquarters in Plantation, FL or Bellevue, WA. 60% of this role will be around operations support, 40% will be data manipulation and vendor ticket responses. While there is a high level of analysis we have a dedicate BI and Data Science team focused on the deeper complexities for our Category Management team. The Category Analyst will manipulate data for reports such as weekly business reviews, utilizing excel pivot tables, VLOOKUP and macros. SQL is a excellent skill to be familiar with in this role by not required. 

  The successful candidate will own category performance, strategic projects, and on-boarding of vendor partners, including negotiating business terms and assortment strategy. The ideal candidate will have excellent verbal & written communication skills, strong attention to detail, absorb information & experiences quickly and apply learnings, and the ability to analyze & communicate complex problems to internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will be flexible, creative, persuasive, analytical, solution-oriented, and able to drive negotiations through to completion.   What You'll Do:

  Maximize product category sales, by leading on-boarding of vendor partners to maximize selection Lead strategic projects and develop process improvements to improve efficiency and performance of the team Integrate analysis and business instincts into a cohesive category strategy and/or project road map Conduct research, collect and process economic and statistical data, monitor economic trends, analyze data, and develop forecasts for our online business Work cross-functionally with supply chain, private label, finance, catalog and product teams What You'll Need:

  Completion of a BS/BA degree in Business Administration, Economics, Commerce or related analytical area required. Interest and internship experience in eCommerce, buying, account management, product management, category management, consulting, analytics, finance or marketing 0-3+ years in of experience with a preference in eCommerce, buying, account management, product management, category management, consulting, analytics, finance or marketing Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills (Excel, SQL) This position may require travel Bonus:

  Experience in Excel, SQL a plus.  The ability to use both formal and informal influencing skills across Chewy’s cross-matrix organization Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects - prioritization, planning and task delegation Track record of taking ownership and driving results (projects, internships, or work experience) Demonstrated ability to work & lead in a team environment

  Compensation & Benefits:

  Our total compensation range for a Category Analyst position is $65,500 - $98,000. The specific range offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k.

  Non-exempt hourly team members accrue paid time off (PTO) while salaried-exempt team members have unlimited PTO, subject to manager approval. Non-exempt hourly team members in Fulfillment Centers and Customer Service are also eligible for additional unplanned unpaid time off (UTO). Team members will receive six paid holidays per year. Team members may be eligible for paid sick and family leave in compliance with applicable state and local regulations.
