JOB REQUIREMENTS: Overview Provides support with the daily activities ofa medical office by performing the following duties and other duties asassigned. Plastic Surgery, Janesville WI (Terrace) 64 Hours/2 Weeks DayShift Hours, No Weekends Responsibilities Rooms patients, collectsassessment data and prepares patient according to specific need. Assistsin examination, treatment and other clinic procedures. Assists withlaboratory procedures, screening tests and QI projects. Answerstelephone and either responds to inquiry, directs caller to appropriatepersonnel, or initiates a triage slip for response by medical personnel.Schedules appointments and enters appointment date and time intocomputerized scheduler. Conducts reminder calls to all patients. Greetand directs patients, salespeople, and visitors. Registers patients byverifying that patient\'s record is up to date and accurate. Makesappropriate changes in computer system and on patient\'s chart.Coordinates referrals for patients through insurance and other physicianoffices. Collects payment from patients and issues receipt whereapplicable. Prepares and maintains patient charts. Maintains and orderssupplies. Education and Experience Graduate of a medical assistantprogram accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools(ABHES) or the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health EducationPrograms (CAAHEP), or graduate of a medical assistant program in a postsecondary school or college that has institutional accreditation by aregional accrediting commission or by a national accreditingorganization approved by the U.S. Department of Education, or otherprograms that may qualify. Experience in clinic setting preferred.Certification/Licensure Approved CPR or BLS certification requiredwithin 90 days. Medication injection training and pharmacology is arequired competency to perform medication administration.
