　　Performing Classification-, Statutory- and Cargo Gear- surveysReporting to the South and East Africa District Manager, based in Durban.

　　The ideal candidate would have excellent knowledge of ship design and construction, ship repair, maintenance and operations and a good understanding of classification and statutory requirements. You should be a Sea Going Engineer or Graduate Marine or Mechanical Engineer or Naval Architect and have worked in one or more of the following positions:

　　Classification Society Surveyor

　　Seagoing Engineer

　　Technical Superintendent

　　Ship repair / New-buildings Supervisor

　　Consultant Surveyor

　　Fluency in spoken and written English is essential. Fluency in spoken and written French and/or Portuguese would also be of benefit and preference would be given to such candidates. You must be a South African citizen or permanent resident in South Africa. International travel and assignments abroad will be also required.
