  The Opportunity:

  The Vice President will report directly to the Senior Vice President of Global Late Phase Clinical Development a lead a team of physicians and scientists. This is a critical role within the company, having a significant impact in defining the clinical development strategy at a high level. The Vice President will be the Therapeutic Head for a specific therapy area and other relevant franchises and is responsible for providing scientific/clinical and product development leadership and support for development programs in the respective Therapeutic Area(s).

  The VP will need to identify opportunities for development via internal evaluations and via business development collaborations to build a portfolio which addresses unmet needs in the Therapeutic Area. The individual will provide leadership and guidance throughout the process and have considerable regulatory knowledge to ensure that the development programs meet expectations of the US Food and Drug Administration or other applicable regulatory bodies. The individual will identify and establish relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and will facilitate close collaborations with these KOLs and Teva’s Clinical, Commercial and Medical Affairs groups. This person will have significant leadership responsibilities, will be an essential member of the senior management team and lead the cross functional teams to develop the overall clinical development strategy for the franchises and to drive execution to deliver the portfolio. The individual will need to provide leadership to motivate, retain and develop the team of the direct reports.

  Travel Requirements: Travel expected (approximately 30% of business days)

  Key Responsibilities:

  Working with Strategic Pipeline Lead (SPL) to develop the Clinical Development Therapeutic Area strategy of identifying opportunities for development that address unmet needs in the selected focus areas.

  Interface and maintain strong relationships with KOLs in the relevant therapeutic areas and regulatory bodies to ensure optimal development of the portfolio.

  Oversee Clinical Leaders and/or Clinical Project Physicians in Phase 2 or 3 activities in protocol development, study execution and interpretation of results.

  Manage a global group of up to approximately ten physicians and scientists in clinical drug development and provide leadership and guidance to them and their teams to ensure optimal development of products in the Therapeutic Area portfolio.

  Work in close collaboration and align development activities in the Therapeutic Area portfolio with the Commercial and Medical Affairs functions.

  Support Commercial and Medical Affairs with communication of development plans and results to physicians, payors, sales and marketing teams, MSLs, etc as needed.

  Support development of the commercial strategy for compounds in late phase clinical development and attend commercial meetings/activities as needed.

  Lead and develop clinical development programs. This includes oversight of the clinical development teams and alignment with the senior project leaders.

  Work closely with Commercial, Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs and Pharmacovigilance in development of clinical plans that meet both regulatory and commercial needs.

  Develop the overall clinical strategy for the Therapeutic Area portfolio and provide clinical support to current and future commercialized products.

  Interface effectively with other Innovative Medicines R&D functions and other departments, including Clinical Operations and Biometrics in design and conduct of the clinical programs.

  Participate in various governance bodies according to their charters to support the development of TEVAs portfolio.

  As a highly important member of the SVP’s leadership Team, participates in go/no go decisions on the pipeline and key decisions in what the company does in a specific Therapeutic Area(s) in the present and future.

  Create and maintain a positive and productive work environment and exhibit exceptional leadership capabilities by creating trust and respect within a Therapeutic Area, other colleagues within Teva, as well as externally.

  Qualifications & Experience:

  Education Requirement:

  MDExperience Required:

  Minimum of 10 years’ experience in clinical development function within a biotech or pharmaceutical company

  Experience filing multiple Investigational New Drug (INDs) applications preferred

  Experience filing multiple New Drug Applications (NDAs) preferred

  Strong relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) across the country and globe

  Specialized or Technical Knowledge Licenses, Certifications needed: Specialized knowledge and experience in Neuroscience, specifically Neurology & Psychiatry

  Functional Knowledge:

  Company/Industry Related Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of Good Clinical Practice, clinical trial design, statistics, regulatory processes and clinical development processes.Job Specific Competencies:
