Citizens is currently seeking a Managing Director, Head of Fixed Income – Origination to join our team. This person will have at least 12 years of experience originating Fixed Income products for a top ranked investment or commercial bank. A proven track record of success in leading a fixed income origination group (primarily in High Yield) with a focus on new business development, revenue generation, coordination with the sales and trading desk, and talent management. This individual will possess proven experience in book run roles, deep corporate and institutional investor relationships, combined with excellent client presentation, communication skills and a solution orientated mindset. This individual will have a strong understanding and focus on compliance and will serve on the Citizens Capital Markets Underwriting Commitment Committee.
Primary responsibilities include
Develop and execute the strategy for Fixed Income - Origination in alignment with Debt Capital Markets origination and the overall business objectives and alignment within Citizens Capital Markets & Advisory.
Drive revenue growth by identifying and capitalizing on market trends, client needs, and business opportunities.
Understand the nuances between Secured, Junior Lien, Subordinated and Preferred tranches and the structural nuances.
Partner effectively with the sales & trading desk(s), syndicate, research, compliance and back-office teams, and corporate functions.
Deep understanding of industry-specific trends, market segments and the competitive marketplace.
Build and maintain long-lasting relationships with key clients and industry professionals.
Collaborate across product groups to provide advice on capital structure through cross-sell efforts with Citizens’ Investment and Commercial Bankers across relevant banking products.
Qualifications, Education, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials
Minimum 12+ years' experience in Fixed Income and/or Leveraged Finance with a top ranked investment bank or commercial bank.
Deep understanding of the Institutional Sales & Trading Fixed Income marketplace, including deep familiarity with various distribution channels and key participants.
Demonstrated established long-term relationships with Capital Markets issuers.
Outstanding leadership skills; track record of success and high performance.
Effective verbal and written communication and influencing skills.
Highly organized with ability to multi-task.
Comfortable spending the majority of their time on traveling to meeting with clients and investors.
Strong credit acumen with superior market risk knowledge.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, advanced degree preferred, but not required.
Series 79 & 63 licenses

Pay Transparency
The salary range for this position is $350,000 -$400,000, plus an opportunity to earn an annual discretionary bonus. Actual pay is based on various factors including but not limited to the work location, and relevant skills and experience.
