Position Description:
Ryerson has an opportunity for a Maintenance Technician position in Lancaster, NY. This facility has various types of metal processing equipment, presenting a challenging work environment for an experienced industrial technician. In this role, a successful candidate will engage with the operations team to determine break down root causes; propose corrective, preventive, or improvement actions; and help train and support equipment operators to maximize uptime and productivity. Working under the Atlantic Market Maintenance Team will give the selected candidate access to team members across the east coast, regular professional training for their continuing education, and opportunity for advancement. The position reports to the Multi Market Operations Manager. Roles and responsibilities include:* Inspect, repair, maintain, and install equipment
* Promote and demonstrate safe work practices for all employees
* Help establish and maintain preventative maintenance programs
* React to unscheduled breakdowns with urgency to minimize equipment downtime
* Coordinate with vendors
* Work with computer systems to track work, order parts, and maintain equipment and safety records
* All other duties as assigned
Position Requirements:
* High school diploma required, technical degree preferred
* Minimum 3-5 years maintenance experience in a manufacturing facility, preferably industrial equipment
* Knowledge of regulatory requirements regarding equipment and maintenance
* Proficient with electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
* Able to read blue prints and schematics.
* Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage changing priorities and multiple tasks.
Salary: $24.89 to $30.00 hourly (reflects the entire pay rate). A starting salary higher than $30.00 (minimum pay rate) hourly is based on a level of experience and education that significantly exceeds the minimum requirements and is commensurate with the compensation scale
