UPMC Senior Communities is hiring a Full Time Life Enrichment & Events Coordinator to support the UPMC location Cumberland Woods Village.

Purpose:
Develop, coordinate, and implement resident programming at the facility. Encourage facility participation by residents in activities providing physical, social, intellectual, and spiritual development with an opportunity to use individual talents and skills.
Responsibilities:
Plan and implement daily events and public interest programs on closed circuit Touchtown TV and facility bulletin boards.
Develop and maintain a resources file of instructors, entertainers, tours, cultural events and sporting events.
Survey and assess interests and needs of residents on an ongoing basis.
Create a monthly Life Enrichment program.
Plan and schedule entertainment, tours and events for residents within facility, community and surrounding geographical area.
Serve on monthly safety committee, observing all facility safety policies and procedures.
Convey courtesy, respect, enthusiasm and positive attitude in work situations with clients, guests, peers, residents and families.
Develop resident committees to provide program guidance and increased resident involvement.
Develop an organized activities program while encouraging maximum resident participation.
Provide technical support for all events in Passavant Hospital Conference Center and Legacy Theatre.
Plan and execute special events to celebrate resident birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, etc.
Utilize Life Enrichment profiles to plan and schedule activities of residents' choice.
Manage large, specialized, and high profile events from initial concept to completion for the Passavant Hospital Foundation Conference Center and Legacy Theatre.
Develop and maintain positive relationship with community liaisons.
Maintain an open line of communication with the facility management regarding activities and special events.
Bachelor's degree in hospitality / therapeutic recreation or related field required. 2-5 years experience preferred, in development and implementation of resident activities program(s). Experience with geriatric population preferred. Understanding of the psychosocial aspects of aging. Familiarity with appropriate State, Federal and JCAHO guidelines.
