Job Purpose or Objective(s): Provide summer internship legal support to the Court system and assist with assigned projects, as needed.
Our Summer Intern Program is an 8-week temporary, paid program that runs from June 3rd - July 26th, 2024. This position pays $17 per hour. Housing available.
Internships are only open to Choctaw Nation tribal members currently enrolled in college.
Primary Tasks:
Complete special projects, as assigned, which may include conducting research, and preparing and analyzing factual information from court filings.
Preparing written memoranda and reports at the Court's direction.
Assist in some administrative tasks, such as copying or scanning necessary documents.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education, Skills and Experience:
Minimum
Current 2L or 3L law student
Ability to make independent judgements and quick decisions
Strong communication skills, verbal and written
Advanced research skills
Ability to read, analyze and interpret legal documents
