We’re looking for an experienced leaves professional who will be responsible for coordinating leave of absence requests, manage individual role accommodations and facilitate the return-to-work arrangements arising under various federal, state, local laws and company disability, leave & time off plans. They will work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless and compliant leave management & partner with both internal & external stakeholders & partners to provide optimum customer service to employees and management. They will be the subject matter expert for all aspects of leave, accommodations and time off plans. They will properly execute all policy, benefit plan and regulatory protocols, ensure issues are resolved, build out processes & training programs for on-going education for employees and management.
Responsibilities:
Apply expert knowledge to manage full spectrum of leave of absence and work accommodation requests including, but not limited to, FMLA/state/local, military, parental leave, role accommodations and temporary accommodation requests in accordance with company policies and procedures
Consult and advise employees and management on eligibility, compliance and coverage for leave of absence and associated benefit plans. Ensure employees are aware of their responsibilities and any documentation or notice required to qualify for a leave of absence
Provide hands-on operational support, including correspondence, followups, tracking & HRIS/vendor system updates, handling escalations cases and supporting projects focused on LOA technology/systems. Escalate complex issues to management and work with internal stakeholders to determine methods for resolving. May assist with investigations into claims of abuse and misuse of leave policies
Support & manage return-to-work process administration, ensuring smooth transitions for employees and management
Coordinate, conduct and document interactive process discussions under the ADA between employees, management, people partners and treating physicians to determine the most appropriate course of action for necessary restrictions and leave accommodations. Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and procedures throughout this process
Coordinate, implement and update guidelines and procedures designed to ensure timely handling, tracking and record maintenance of all intermittent and consecutive leaves and reasonable accommodation requests
Handle/support corrective action and termination warnings for employees who demonstrate a failure to interact properly under company values and policies and/or fail to meet company attendance or performance expectations during the leave. Prepare management for and/or attend meetings to address employee grievance complaints
Perform related &/or other duties as required and assigned by management, meeting assigned due dates
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree with coursework in Human Resources, employment law, compliance or related field preferred
Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in HR
Minimum 5 years of U.S. leave management experience required including advanced knowledge of FMLA, ADA, USERRA, state/local leave of absence regulations and protected & unprotected leave types & experience providing advice and consultation to employees and management
Minimum 2 years Workday leaves & benefits administration &/or projects experience
Minimum 2 years Google Suite (including Google Sheets) experience
Excellent organization skills with demonstrated ability to multi-task and effectively plan and set priorities. Able to manage several complex tasks simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines
Proven ability to comprehend, evaluate and make decisions and/or recommendations on issues; ability to recognize escalating situations and seek partnership from stakeholders proactively
Demonstrated ability in maintaining a high level of confidentiality; demonstrated effectiveness in interpersonal communication and consulting skills with the ability to facilitate tough conversations in a respectful and professional manner
Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships and partnerships at all levels of management, employees & stakeholders across the organization and with external partners administrator
Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment
Preferred Professional certification in Disability Management preferred

Starting salary/wage for this opportunity:
$59,657.85 to $79,543.80
Other rewards may include annual bonus eligibility, which is based on company and individual performance, short and long term incentives, and program-specific awards.
