Come join our team in Houston, TX- seeking laboratory logistics support team members for a contract to hire opportunity
Pay : $18-20/hr. depending on experience
This position support research trial activity for specimen collection on a global scale including assembling kits, distributing kits worldwide, tracking kits using BSI, and receiving and logging in patient specimens and general supplies, and may also be responsible for some simple tasks in laboratory.
Qualifications and minimum requirements include:
Education –B.S. associate degree equivalent in Science, Business or related field, Minimum high school graduate
BSI or equivalent database
Preferred:
Familiar with LIMS or BSI system
Understanding of current GLP or CAP/CLIA/ISO standards
Have a documentation background in a laboratory setting with respect to regulatory guidelines (cGMP, cGLP or ISO) and SOPs
Good organizational and people skills. Good computer skills with mid to advanced level in MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Adobe.
Must be detail orientated
Core Functions and Responsibilities:
Manages workload and resources including:
Demonstrating the ability to multi-task on a daily basis, prioritize project goals, pay strict attention to detail, and meet customer demands
Ensuring timely kit assembly and distribution
Tracking kits for expiration, delivery status, etc.
Receiving, inspecting, and logging in patient specimens
Coordinating clinical site management with input from other PFM team members
Contributing to portions of the laboratory project work scopes as needed
Monitoring clinical site inventories and replenishing/refreshing supplies as necessary, but within constraints of the contract
Coordinating sample shipment/receipt with clinical sites and package carriers
Picking up samples locally (on occasion): Must own a vehicle and have a valid driver’s license as the position involves sample pickup as needed, as a backup to the other staff, at local sites.
Input kit and sample inventories in BSI database and suggesting improvements
Communicating with package couriers and customers
Receiving laboratory supplies
Maintaining an organized and safe lab environment by helping to enforce GCP/CLIA compliance.
Providing training to clinical sites as requested
Kit component inventories and ensuring that components are used in a first in/first out (FIFO) manner
Sending out sample prenotification and receiving (sample and reagents) notifications to scientific team
May require to process a simple task in the lab to assist PBMCs processing, or cell culture maintenance
