The Role

As a Senior Manager, Network Engineering you will manage a team of systems and network engineers that engineer and implement critical platform systems projects, and support other development teams from a platform perspective. These engineers will be building networks and deploying systems that enable the applications that run the Lumen product networks As manager of this team it will be a requirement to have the technical knowledge and engineering background with experience in critical systems.

This is a work from home position anywhere within the US.

The Main Responsibilities

Manage team of engineers that implement critical system projects (upgrades, expansions, and replacements).

Extensive knowledge of IP networking, *nix systems, CI/CD methodologies, and virtualization/container technologies of all sorts, from KVM to Kubernetes.

Simplify complicated network planning and systems management disciplines into simple business management actionability.

Drive business insights through a data analysis, synthesizing conclusions into operational strategies and improvements.

Partner across multiple organizations to achieve organizational goals.

Responsible for talent development through empowerment, driving a “culture of learning”, and actively engaging in employee’s development opportunities.

Instill a culture of accountability (See it, Own it, Solve it, Do it!).

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements, timelines, and overall execution plans.

What We Look For in a Candidate

At least 10 years of experience in the network and systems engineering/administration or related fields.

Extensive knowledge of networking technologies and architectures.

Extensive knowledge of Linux systems and architectures.

Extensive knowledge of virtualization technologies.

Extensive knowledge of Kubernetes-based technologies

Capability of understanding and communicating complex technical concepts to non-technical individuals.

Understand how to drive decision making through data analytics.

Create executive level content to communicate key strategies and business observations.

Experience leading people in an individual or front-line leadership capacity.

Preferred Qualifications

Strong knowledge of network and systems automation.

Strong knowledge of development pipelines

Ability to problem solve and work effectively in complex, ambiguous situations.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change.

Operate consistently with a sense of urgency and a ‘can-do’ attitude.

Demonstrate excellent problem solving, negotiating, conflict management and decision-making skills.

Proven track record of driving productivity while maintaining or increasing quality.

Compensation

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

Location Based Pay Ranges:

$129,639 - $172,852 in these states: AL, AR, AZ, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, ME, MO, MS, MT, ND, NE, NM, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, UT, VT, WI, WV, and WY.

$136,121 - $181,494 in these states: CO, HI, MI, MN, NC, NH, NV, OR, and RI.

$142,603 - $190,137 in these states: AK, CA, CT, DC, DE, IL, MA, MD, NJ, NY, TX, VA, and WA.
