JOB REQUIREMENTS: The City of Onalaska is seeking to hire Junior CampCounselors. Scheduled hours vary for each program, but may include:mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends. An employee in thisposition is responsible for the supervision, instruction and safety ofall participants, program staff, and the equipment and amenitiesassociated with a specific program. Essential Job Functions: Implementthe daily activities of the Summer Explorers Day Camp program. Act as arole model and leader for all day camp participants. Prepare thefacility for camp activities and clean up the area when all activitiesare complete. Be familiar with the Staff and Parent Manuals and followthe guidelines set forth by these manuals. Help compile and maintain abinder of campers\' emergency contact information. Make sure to bringthe binders on walks, to the Onalaska Aquatic Center, all field trips,etc. Complete and turn in Incident/Accident Report Forms, ConductReports and all other required paperwork in a professional manner.Dispense medication as needed and log in the Medication Record. Workdirectly with the children by leading and supervising them in plannedactivities. Administer First Aid and CPR as needed (training will beprovided). Remain at the site until all children are picked up. Attendall required staff meetings, trainings and workshops. Maintain a cleanand organized environment for both staff and campers. Perform the job incompliance with City policies, procedures, rules and the employeehandbook. Perform the job safely in compliance with City safety rulesand procedures. Physical Requirements: The work environmentcharacteristics described herein are representative of those an employeeencounters while performing the essential functions of this job. JobRequirements: CPR/First Aid Certification required (class available uponhire). One (1) year of recreation and/or child care experiencepreferred. Must possess supervision and leadership techniques/skills.Prior knowledge of school-aged activity programs. Compensation: Wagerange for this seasonal, limited-term position is \$10.00 to \$13.00 perhour depending on qualifications. There are no benefits associated withlimited-term positions.
