  Description

  The Idaho Department of Lands (IDL) has one (1) opening for anIT Software Engineer IIIposition. This position isa full-timebenefitted positionlocated at ourDirector’s OfficeinBoise, Idaho.

  The minimum filling rate is $32.28. The final salary rate is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

  Example of Duties:

  Responsibilities:

  · Conducts a complete diagnosis of most business problems, factoring in a strong understanding of technical architecture.

  · Identifies, designs, directs, and performs analyses to resolve complex first-time project issues including the analysis of technical and economic feasibility of proposed system solutions.

  · Leads design sessions by presenting logical statements of business problems and designs and offering and incorporating ideas.

  · Designs projects with broad implications, requiring system integration of technical platforms.

  · Develops code to add functionality to new or existing systems.

  · Some positions may have on-going leadership or formal supervisory responsibility for a small IT team.

  Minimum Qualifications:

  Experience:

  · Creating, interpreting, and documenting user requirements

  · Analyzing development solutions to show costs and benefits.

  · Coding, testing, and deploying production systems.

  · Establishing and defining architecture and development standards.

  Considerable Knowledge of:

  · Data architecture, software architecture, common software design patterns development, and testing practices.

  · Programming languages and software development tool suites.

  Experience:

  · Researching, designing, and installing a new or enhanced complex integrated system, which includes multiple technologies and platforms and the resolution of conflicting goals.

  · Design, Document and implement software solutions (to support the IDL Mission).

  · Creating programming standards, procedures, and documentation libraries. Designing, implementing, and troubleshooting data and software architecture.

  Overtime/Vacation Accrual FLSA:

  The Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) code for this position is Covered (C) Based on the FLSA code for this position, compensatory time will accrue at a rate of 1.5 hours for each 1 hour of overtime worked. Compensatory time off may be provided in lieu of overtime cash compensation. Vacation accrual is based on the FLSA code and accrual rates can be found at: https://dhr.idaho.gov/wp-content/uploads/Section2Vacation-1.pdf (Exception: Employees engaged in Fire Suppression activities for which overtime hours are earned will be paid at the rate of 1.5 times the hourly rate for each one hour of overtime worked. Payment will be made on the regular pay date corresponding to the pay period in which the overtime work occurred.)
