Inventory and Logistics Manager

Position Description:
As an Inventory and Logistics Manager, you are the first line of defense against any defects on incoming hardware for satellites. You will ensure inventory and supply items are properly categorized, stored, and accessible. You will be responsible for kitting work orders to keep the production floor moving.
Primary Responsibilities:
Manage inventory, supply items, and other required material for production floor. Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in inventory racks, supply cabinets, work centers, and/or other areas.
Kit work orders for production floor using MRP system. Validate kit completeness with all the necessary material for the work order. Maintain/replenish inventory floor stock levels daily.
Process purchase order receipts, including uploading documentation. Perform receiving inspections of incoming hardware, verifying purchase order requirements and supplier First Article Inspection reports.
Determine proper storage methods, identification, and stock location, based on turnover, environmental factors, and physical capabilities of facilities. Plan layout of warehouse and other storage areas.
Support annual inventory counts and financial audits. Resolve issues with cost discrepancy, values, and quantities. Recommends disposal actions for expired material, scrap, and obsolete inventory.
Perform day to day shipping operations (FedEx, UPS, etc.) as well as international satellite shipments in conjunction with our freight forwarder. Resolve issues with customs and track product to its destination. Ability to resolve logistical processing issues.
Maintain all necessary logistical documentation including Import/Export documents, Declared Value Conformation, and Declaration of Dangerous Goods to meet transportation requirements.
Serve as a Certified Hazmat Employee in the company. Manage dangerous goods classification and shipment preparation including a Declaration of Dangerous Goods, with CFR 49 and IATA requirements. Identify issues and work with DOT and FAA to obtain the hazmat transportation waiver if necessary. Lead annual FAA audits and hazmat inspections.
Required Qualifications:
Thorough understanding of inventory policies and procedures
5+ years experience with ERP/MRP systems
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, operations management, supply chain management, or related field
5+ years experience managing high value inventory, preferably in a space, aerospace, medical, and/or manufacturing environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail
Desired Qualifications:
Experience with PLEX, LeoStella’s ERP/MRP system
Expertise in item classification including Harmonized Tariff Schedule and Schedule B. Familiar with export compliances, export paperwork, and EEI filings.
Compensation & Benefits:
Compensation range is $80-118K + 10% target bonus
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case by case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
Base salary is one part of your total rewards package - you may also be eligible for up to 10% potential bonuses. Additional employee benefits are detailed below as well.
