What’s a typical day as an Injection Molding Operator? You’ll be:
• Supporting the mold setup of Injection Mold Tooling
• Responsible for material changes, mold transportation, installation, setup/startup within established validated parameters, line clearances where applicable, and cleanup of area and equipment
• Delivering material to appropriate molding operations and processes scrap from molding
• Following outlined procedures and safety guidelines to ensure quality and cost standards are met
• Operating pallet jack, forklift, and other material handling equipment
• Performing Line Clearance as required
• Maintaining a neat and orderly work area to ensure efficiency and safety
• Compiling and maintaining production paperwork and documentation
• Performing basic troubleshooting on machinery and/or feeding systems
• Working with the Tool Room for mold preventative maintenance program
• Blending material, weighing up resins, delivering material to machines, and purging machines
• Operating grinders and/or blenders to reduce waste and monitor material consistency
• Adjusting equipment per established process parameters to ensure attainment of production rates and quality specifications
This job might be an outstanding fit if you:
• Have a secondary education (High School)
• Preferably have vocational technical or trade school experience
• Have one to two years of technician experience in a similar molding operation, preferably with experience on 33 to 350-ton equipment
• Have additional experience in automated machine operation
• Are computer literate to a degree allowing the entry and retrieval of process information
• Are familiar with the differences between basic resin types of operations and troubleshooting of molding and auxiliary equipment
• Have the ability to read and interpret typical component specifications and prints
• Possess solid math skills and measurement knowledge
