Chris Preble from Robert Half is working with a Syracuse client of his that has been growing a lot. This is a newly created position. The head of the HR department is looking for a #2 that can come in and learn and grow in the HR Dept. Awesome benefits here, very very low turnover and a good working office vibe.
This job is 50% benefits and 50% HR Generalist duties. You’ll have a lot of diversity to your job and learn a lot. Benefit duties may include helping out with leaves (statutory requirements, enhanced leave benefits, leave letters, tracking of time, FMLA analysis, etc.). Generalist duties will include exit interviews for admin levels, interviewing, helping out with hiring direction, ad hoc projects, health/wellness program ownership, salary reviews, etc. They are working on the job description but stressed to me this role will be built around the fit of the person they hire. Again, they’re hiring for the future and can train in an area where someone is weak. Payroll is handled by a payroll department so you won’t be involved in that. They said really, in some ways, it's good there's not a formal description yet because they'll build the role around the person they hire (similar to the other people I placed here in other departments of the company).

Must have some benefit experience. Don’t need a pro but need to have something. They feel they can train everywhere else if required. Need a go getter, someone that wants growth.
