GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Performs nursing assessment, diagnosis, treatment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of individuals and families. The focus is on Adult Health with direct client contact with clients requiring LT101’s, diabetic education, HIV/STI testing and counseling as well as case managing clients on the Ryan White Program. Walk-in clinics are covered to include immunizations for adolescents and adults, administering COVID and flu vaccines, and referring clients to needed medical and dental services within the county. Emergency preparedness is also included.

Performs nursing assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation according to the ANA’s Public Health Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice
Arranges for and conducts nursing clinics and classes; teaching individuals and groups about health promotion and disease prevention.
Determines priorities and responsibilities based on public health core functions and essential services.
Administers adult and child vaccines per program protocols and best practices.
Performs walk-in clinics applying the nursing process, guidelines and orders, and appropriate documentation.
Works with nurse manager and public health response coordinator in relation to emergency preparedness activities.
Serves the community through a variety of programs including but not limited to; HIV, STI testing, HIV/AIDS case management, clinic walk-ins, chronic disease assessment and management, TB testing, participation in local community outreach, and performs LT101 assessments.

Education:
Associate's Degree (typically in Nursing)
Experience:
0-2 years of progressive work experience (typically in Nursing) with acquired knowledge at the level of an LPN
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Must be licensed or eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Wyoming
OR
Education & Experience Substitution:
3-5 years of progressive work experience (typically in Nursing) with acquired knowledge at the level of an LPN
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Must be licensed or eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Wyoming
Necessary Special Requirements
PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
As a condition of employment, the successful applicant employed will be required to execute a release of personnel records to the Board of County Commissioners on an as-needed basis.
In addition, the successful applicant will be required to complete an Employee Health Assessment, which includes verification of immunity to vaccine-preventable diseases. If the successful applicant is found to be nonimmune, vaccination will be required, unless medically contraindicated.
Yearly influenza vaccination is also required, unless medically contraindicated.
A background check, including taking of fingerprints, will be completed through the Wyoming Department of Criminal Investigation, the Department of Family Services, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, for every successful applicant.
BLS/CPR for Healthcare Professionals is required.
Must be able to:
Lift/transfer patients to different positions.
Lift medical/patient equipment of varying sizes and weights up to about 50 lbs.
Restrain clients for treatments, climb stairs to patient homes, and drive long distances.
Travel throughout the state and to national conferences if requested.
Work evenings, nights, and /or weekends when the situation requires it.

Current state employees accepting a promotional opportunity - recruitment must have been open to the public
One year of service in the position must be completed. Failure to complete this requirement will require reimbursement of the bonus with the funds deducted from the final pay.
Internal candidates will be required to remain in the position for a minimum of (1) year from the promotion date.
Employees will only be eligible for (1) hiring bonus in a 12-month period.
