UC's annual budget tops $1.65 billion and its endowment totals $1.8 billion.Job OverviewThe University of Cincinnati, College of Medicine (COM) HR Director partners with senior leadership to provide support, consulting, and leadership on matters of organizational planning, recruitment, compensation, employee relations, performance management and development of HR policies, programs, and procedures for COM employees.The HR Director reports directly to the Sr. Associate Dean of Operations and Finance for the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. This HR Director position will focus on needs of the COM staff employees. This position will work closely with the COM HR Director for Faculty and Dually Compensated Providers, as well as the COM senior leadership team and UC Human Resources.The HR Director is expected to provide leadership and direction to COM HR Consultants and HR Coordinators through the management and administration of day-to-day Human Resources functions. The HR Director also provides consulting to COM departments on a variety of complex and often confidential Human Resources issues.Essential FunctionsProvide advice and counsel to employees, supervisors and administrators on Human Resource policy, performance, discipline and grievance related issues.Responsible for interpretation and compliance with all applicable collective bargaining agreements.Monitor effectiveness of services and performance against benchmarks to ensure best practice approach; compile data; prepare and summarize reports.Ensure compliance with State and Federal laws and University rules policies and procedures.Oversee recruitment and hiring process, ensuring the appropriate budget exists for all positions and HR actions.Prepare, approve and review Position Maintenance Requests, Requests for Reassignments and PCR's.May provide direct supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/termination, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).Must maintain confidentiality with high level of integrity.
