The Accommodations Specialist is an individual contributor role with primary responsibility of managing employees’, applicants’ and candidates’ requests for reasonable accommodations. This role will primarily manage US religious and disability accommodation requests, including facilitating the interactive process among appropriate stakeholders and ensuring that reasonable accommodations are provided timely, efficiently, and effectively in accordance with state and federal law (e.g., the Americans with Disabilities Act, Pregnant Workers Fairness Act, California Fair Employment & Housing Act, and the Civil Rights Act), as well as company policies. The Accommodation Specialist works closely with the business site, Corporate Legal, EHS, and the leave vendor on coordination of requests and communication with employees and management regarding short and long-term ADA, PWFA, and religious accommodations.
This position will be located in Austin, TX and can be hybrid.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Perform case management and coordinate the accommodation process for end-to-end case management, including working with HR, the employee, vendors, work location, and other stakeholders
Initiate and manage the interactive process with employees, managers, HR Partners, along with applicable stakeholders
Provide support and guidance while performing activities related to short term and long-term accommodations for employees at work or returning to work for medical-based accommodations, including review and consistent treatment of extension of leaves of absence as an accommodation
Develop transitional work assignment or long-term accommodation within position based on restrictions as well as available tasks
Act as liaison between our third-party administrators, HR, EH&S, Legal, Payroll, Benefits, employees and other departments/systems as appropriate
Educate employees and HR on complicated aspects of return to work, accommodations, and complex case processes
Provide guidance, assess risk, resolve issues, and escalate as appropriate for employees, managers and HR
Escalate complex issues including inability to accommodate, complex cases, and transitional work programs for guidance
Maintain system records to ensure accurate and timely information/documentation
Compile and analyze data on accommodation requests
Provide training to HR Business partners and managers on legal requirements and the company’s accommodation process
Skills and Knowledge
Full knowledge and proficient application of federal and state laws and regulations (ADA, PWFA, etc) regarding reasonable accommodations based on disability, medical condition, and religious beliefs
Effective collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders using strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to use independent judgment to manage and impart confidential and sensitive employee information
Strong organizational, critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization
Qualifications
5+ years of work experience in HR
At least 3 years experience in corporate accommodations
Experience with accommodations withinmanufacturing is a plus
Broad knowledge of leave of absence laws, regulations is a plus
Compliance experience very helpful
BA/BS degree

U.S. Salary Range:
$88,000.00 - $121,000.00
The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.
For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
