Description
The Health Information Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of the Health Information Management (HIM) department. With a focus on optimizing revenue and workflow efficiency, this role involves conducting operational evaluations and implementing best practices within the middle of the Revenue Cycle.
Responsibilities include maintaining and monitoring HIM controls and computer systems, scheduling daily assignments, and evaluating associate performance. The HIM Supervisor ensures quality and compliance by interpreting policies and procedures for associates and providing ongoing training. Additionally, they offer direction and support to client leaders, delivering detailed analysis and reports to both clients and internal leaders.
Requirements
Required qualifications for this position include a High School Diploma or GED and at least 2 years of Health Information Management (HIM) experience. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to organize, manage, and supervise groups to meet quality and turnaround requirements. Physical requirements include operating computers and office equipment, as well as frequent interactions that require verbal communication and quick understanding of information, particularly in emergency situations.
