  NORTHAMPTON \$5,000 SIGN ON BONUS PLEASE SEE WEBSITE FOR FULL JOBDESCRIPTION Head Start Preschool Teacher Position Summary: Job Summary:In cooperation with Lead Teacher, maintain overall classroom operationsin accordance with Head Start Performance Standards, Department of EarlyEducation and Care Regulations, National Association for the Educationof Young Children, and MA Department of Education Frameworks. Work withparents and community members to implement School Readiness goalsRequirements Education, Experience and Qualifications: Must at minimumhave an Associate\'s Degree in Early Childhood Education or relatedfield with nine months of experience in ECE setting. Department of EarlyEducation & Care Teacher certified (for appropriate age group ofassigned classroom). Physical Demands and Work Environment: The physicaldemands and work environment described above are representative of thosethat must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essentialfunctions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enableindividuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Theemployee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, talk, use akeyboard and climb stairs. The employee must occasionally lift and/ormove up to 40 pounds. Must be able to engage in activities that includebending, floor activities, and lifting young children 2 months to 5years of age. The noise level in the classroom is lively. The workenvironment is primarily an indoor classroom environment, with dailyexposure to outdoor weather. The employee must have the ability to drivea personal vehicle and program vehicles, as needed. EssentialRequirements and Responsibilities: Demonstrate commitment to qualityearly care and education with sensitivity to the needs of culturallydiverse families with lower incomes. Complete and maintain EECProfessional Qualifications Registry (PQR) and Individual ProfessionalDevelopment Plan (IPDP). Produce documentation of physical exam, MMR\'sand TB risk upon hire and subsequently every two years. Obtain andmaintain CPR and Emergency Pediatric First Aid certification accordingto EEC regulations. Maintain and practice current knowledge of the HeadStart Performance Standards, EEC Regulations, HS & ELP Service Delivery,and NAEYC criterion, as appropriate. Ensure the appropriate supervisionof children, including implementation of protocols for the care of youngchildren. Ensure healthy and safe environments for young children.Ensure completion of weekly curriculum, child anecdotal records, childassessments, home visits and family conferences. Engage with families increating school readiness goals for children. Work with program andcommunity specialists to implement goals through program?s casemanagement system. Fill in for bus monitor as needed, completing dailypassenger logs, pre and post trip bus inspections. Cover for otherclassrooms as needed. Follow HS & ELP Standard of Conduct. Attend allappropriate program workshops and meetings, including site FamilyMeetings. Adhere to agency confidentiality polices. AA/EOE/ADAEmployment is contingent upon the following: a Background Record Check(BRC), which includes Criminal Offender Record information (CORI),Department of Children and Families (DCF) background check, Sex OffenderRegistry information (SORI) checks, fingerprint-based national and statecriminal history database checks, National Sex Offender Registry (NCOR),and Out-of-State checks (CORI, SORI, DCF) if an individual has lived inanother state within the last five years. BRC and fingerprinting-basednational and state criminal history check is to be completed every threeyears. In addition, employment is contingent on evidence of physicalexam within the past year, plus verification of MMRs. Documentation ofsubsequent physical exams must be submitted every 2 years.
