Introduction:
Boeing Italy is currently hiring for a Head of Government Affairs - Italy & Southern Europe based out of Rome.
The position reports directly to the President of Boeing Italy and Managing Director for Southern Europe and works closely with the Business Units leaders and other functions of the organization across the Enterprise. The position plays a critical role in the design, development and execution of the company's globalization strategy and business plans in Southern Europe (Italy, Spain, Portugal, Greece, etc).
Position Responsibilities:
Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with Commercial and Defense customers and stakeholderAssists in the implementation of the Southern Europe strategy and Business Units initiatives working with the country teams and the Boeing Business Units; collaborating internally to ensure alignment between government affairs efforts and overall business strategyCollaborates with Corporate Communications to all Country relevant media events and exposureMaintains close market monitoring, analyzing and understanding customers, market trends and future requirements, monitoring competitors, industries and customers activities and strategies and evaluate current and potential implications for the Boeing business interestsBoth independently and as member of the team, develops and maintains relations with government officials in the key countries in order to:build stable contacts and develop positive Boeing perceptionsprovide high value intel on political dynamics of interest to Boeingmonitor legislative, regulatory and political activities in areas of interestarticulate and communicate the company's positions on key issues effectivelyprovide guidance on potential regulatory/policy impacts on business operationsSupports the Managing Director and senior Boeing executives in gaining access to key, top-level leaders, and accompany them in meetings with government officials and business leaders. Coordinating the visits and briefings for company leaders within the CountryIdentifies critical local stakeholders, target audiences and supporting with key message development and deployment strategiesestablishes and maintains the presence and reputation of the Boeing Company by building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, potential partners, government, business, media, community and other leaders in the country;Coordinates Enterprise projects and Company's events with government and industry partners.Engages in relevant industry or governmental forums/ associations, representing the company's viewpoint and achieving common goals;Please note that this is a professional individual contributor role with no direct people management responsibility but acting as a leader in the field of expertise, able to interact with senior internal and external personnel, drive results and exercise influence on the overall objectives and long-range business goals of the organization.
This position is onsite, based in our Rome office. Whilst the selected candidate will be required to perform the activities based in the primary location of the job posting, the role may also require working outside of standard hours during the week (e.g. representing Boeing at government related events) and the occasional weekend (e.g. at airshows). The applicant must be prepared to occasionally travel in-country, as well as internationally.
Qualifications:
University level degree preferably in business management, economics and/or international politics. Master Degree will be a plus.10+ years of relevant working experience preferably with a multinational company. Aerospace experience will be a plus.Positive and solution-oriented attitude as well as a proven ability to work collaborative and constructively as member of a team.Demonstrated strong business acumen and analytical skills as well as financial and legal insight.Sound knowledge and understanding of political, economic and business environment, with a solid network of business contacts in the focus countries.Propensity and experience in constructing and managing stakeholder relationships.Excellent cross-cultural communication and interpersonal skills.Strong organizational skills, excellent judgment, discretion.Fluent in written and spoken English and Italian are required. Fluent Spanish will be a plus.

This position does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
