Description:

　　This site is all R&D for RF Solutions Group. They create scanner/receivers "blue boxes" that are mounted on vehicles to measure phone coverage. This position is in the Hardware Group.

　　The Hardware Engineer will be a team member and work closely with our engineers to learn and assist in the design, development, and testing of embedded processor circuit boards and RF boards for our test equipment product line for testing various wireless technologies. This role will include knowledge of various communication protocols like SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet, and USB as well as power supply designs such as DC/DC LDO and Switchers. The successful candidate will also be involved in coordinating with our manufacturing resources concerning product level testing and validation.

　　Position Functions

　　• Assists with the design and testing of Printed Circuit Assemblies using RF and Digital components.

　　• Ability to design a basic circuit, including block diagrams, schematic, specifications, layout, and testing.

　　• Uses lab test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscope, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, network analyzers,

　　Intermodulation test equipment etc.)

　　• Assists with the design and functionality of RF circuit assemblies in the 10 MHz to 50 GHz range.

　　• Responsible for the assembly, modification, and repair of electrical prototypes and products, using soldering equipment and basic

　　hand tools.

　　• Sets up test stations, connects and configures test equipment, designs and writes test scripts using Python and LabView, performs

　　electrical and mechanical tests, and prepares analysis reports.

　　• Maintains our existing products by performing problem investigation, troubleshooting, component qualification, characterization,

　　and testing.

　　• Writes technical reports, develops charts, graphs and images to describe and illustrate a system’s operation characteristics,

　　malfunctions, rework modifications, deviations from design specifications, and functional limitations.

　　• Troubleshoots EMI/EMC problems

　　• Maintains a high standard of quality, consistency and ethics in the areas of assembly, test, measurement and documentation.

　　• Maintains lab appearance, and lab equipment and supplies needed for product development.

　　Skills & Qualifications:

　　• Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or equivalent and a semester of relevant

　　experience as an Engineering Intern or Co-op

　　• Familiarity in the assembly and testing of passive and active RF devices, including antennas, filters, LNAs, GPS receivers and

　　cable assemblies

　　• Experience using lab test equipment (multimeters, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, network analyzers,

　　Intermodulation test equipment etc.)

　　• Experience with Python and LabView, designing test setups and scripts

　　• Ability to perform reworking of fine-pitch surface mount PCBs

　　• Basic Mathematics

　　• General PC and Internet skills

　　• Skills in MS Office, primarily Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point, and Teams

　　• Advanced verbal and written communication skills in the English language

　　• Ability to apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, criteria and good judgment in performance of duties
