Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking an Administrative Coordinator for the Office for Research - Tech Transfer/New Ventures.Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Serves as a critical support position for three departments: Technology Transfer, New Ventures, and Research Partnerships.
  • Supports the administrative needs of the Executive Directors in each area.
  • Plans and coordinates events and provides office administration including extensive calendaring, drafting of correspondence and travel arrangements.
  • Maintains effective knowledge of all relevant resources and services available within the university.
  • Acts as liaison and maintains collaborative relationships with Rutgers central administration, university staff and administrators.
  • Works under direct supervision, with specific instructions on routine or semi routine work and within established work parameters for the unit.
  • Performs professional work that requires knowledge of general administrative/office management practices and the basic application and use of concepts, theories, and terminology of unit administration.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  Qualifications

  

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education
    and/or experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of office administration, work organization, coordination.
  • A minimum of two years' experience in administrative or executive support.
Certifications/Licenses
  • Use of personal vehicle in order to travel for business demands; a valid driver's license would be required for this position.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • .Must be a self-starter, detail- and solutions-oriented, an effective communicator both in writing and verbally and possess excellent organization skills.
  • Must have experience handling multiple competing priorities with competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have a working knowledge Microsoft Outlook and the Microsoft Office suite of applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with or knowledge of Rutgers' internal structure, policies and procedures.
Equipment Utilized
  • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Must be willing and able to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • May be required to shift schedule to accommodate events.
  • Travel to event venues requires use of personal vehicle.
