Position Summary:
The Development Coordinator helps the LACI Development Department secure, sustain and grow funding for the organization, including critical general operating support as well as funding for its mission-driven programs. This role assists in strategizing and streamlining current, new, and prospective development opportunities across all lines of revenue, including but not limited to corporate, foundation, government and individual grant funding The Grants Development Coordinator supports the Director, Grants Development and VP Development in identifying and researching public and private grant funding opportunities, coordinating the grant application and proposal process from registration to submission, and ensuring that reports and updates on project delivery and impact are submitted to funders as required
What You’ll Do:
Development Project Management: Work closely with all members of the Development team . Assist as needed with coordination and planning for projects that raise general operating support such as the LACI Annual Fundraiser (LACItizen Awards). Lead on project coordination, document preparation and submission for grant proposals. Ensure documents, email correspondence and other data are entered and archived for accurate and timely record keeping in Salesforce. Monitor and track progress and task completion using Asana and other tools as needed
Assist in Business Development Strategy : Coordinate with LACI program teams to support fundraising for new or growing programmatic services/offerings (e.g., circular economy, Clean Energy Partnership). Help to increase unrestricted funding by researching new opportunities and assisting with outreach to prospects. Support organizational relationships with foundations, high net worth individuals, and other current and prospective LACI supporters
Development Process and Procedure: Assist with data analysis on fundraising revenue to be presented quarterly in board meetings, financial forecasting, etc. Draft, send, and track additional development documents including gut check forms, invoices, and agreements
Grant Progress and Impact Reporting: Take lead on LACI grant reporting. Work with Legal/Compliance and Program Teams to assign grant/contract codes per LACI’s internal tracking & filing systems and coordinate project kickoff meeting. Track all required funder deadlines and ensure that program teams are informed of deadlines and associated reporting requirements and responsibilities. Coordinate responses, metrics reporting, and any required budget updates or other deliverables from relevant program staff. Submit reports to funders on time, as required per funder grant agreements. Occasional writing to assist with completion of grant proposals, applications and related documents

Requirements:
Basically, we want to know you can get the job done. This means you have/are:
Bachelor’s degree or similar experience
At least two years relevant experience in grant-writing, fundraising support, development
Good interpersonal and communication skills that enable work in a collaborative environment
Ability to work independently under minimal supervision and to maintain confidentiality
Ability to write clear, concise, and accurate documents
Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Google Suite, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Asana (or similar project management software)
Strong organizational skills
Attention to detail and ability to keep track of multiple projects with competing deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a corporate or medium to large nonprofit administrative setting
Database, donor management software, or CRM experience
Work Requirements
Must work in LACI’s Downtown LA office (we are currently hybrid in office 3 days a week and remote 2 days a week)
Availability to work occasional weekends and/or evening hours depending on events schedule
Some local travel may be required
Position Details:
This is a full-time position , starting immediately. LACI operates out of the La Kretz Innovation Campus, in the bustling Downtown LA Arts District. Since we are rapidly growing, you will be getting in on the ground floor at LACI, with the opportunity to evolve with us and shape your future here. Some travel may be required.
Salary Range: Coordinator Range $50-58k commensurate with experience, education, skills, etc and total compensation package including health benefits, 401k match, professional development, commuter benefits and more.
