　　Experts of operations, process and efficiency who enable a consistent experience for our guests by ensuring product is set, in-stock, accurately priced and signed on the sales floor. The General Merchandise and Food Sales team leads inbound, outbound, replenishment, inventory accuracy, presentation, pricing and promotional signing processes for all General Merchandise (GM) areas of the store. This team leads Food & Beverage and Food Service, providing a fresh and food safe experience. Experts enable efficient delivery to our guests by owning pick, pack and ship fulfillment work.

The role of a General Merchandise Expert can provide you with the: Knowledge of guest service fundamentals and experience supporting a guest first culture across the store Experience in retail business fundamentals including: department sales trends, inventory management, and process efficiency and improvementExperience executing daily/weekly workload to support business priorities and deliver on sales goals As a General Merchandise Expert, no two days are ever the same, but a typical day will most likely include the following responsibilities: Create a welcoming experience by authentically greeting all guestsObserve to quickly understand whether a guest needs assistance or wants to interact. Follow body language and verbal clues to tailor your approachEngage with guests in a genuine way, which include asking questions to better understand their specific needsBe knowledgeable about the tools, products, and services available in the total store, and specific to your area, to solve issues for the guest and improve their experienceThank the guest in a genuine way and let them know we're happy they chose to shop at TargetBe an expert and dedicated owner of select GM areas to ensure sales floor is zoned, in stock and accurately signed for guestsAcknowledge guests as you complete workload with minimal guest disruption; review sales trends to understand how to prioritize daily workload based on business and guest needsEnsure regular and promotional signing is set accurately for GM categories and be knowledgeable of products in the adExecute revisions, sales plans and planograms for all GM categoriesAssist all non-GM areas of the store with transition sets and In Store Marketing (ISM)Conduct weekly price change workload for all GM categoriesComplete Radio Frequency ID (RFID) scans in GM areas and system audit functions to ensure inventory accuracyAccurately execute all backroom fills, including guest requests, and backstock product from GM categories efficiently and timelyOwn backroom aisles, including backstock, for your GM areasProcess all inbound deliveries using the Receive application to ensure inventory accuracyComplete all backroom daily and weekly auditsOperate power equipment only if certifiedMaintain backroom and fixture room organization, location accuracy and follow equipment guidelinesFollow processes accurately with attention to detail, monitor own progress and accurately prioritize tasksDemonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and complianceWork in a safe manner at all times to benefit yourself and others; identify and correct hazards; comply with all safety policies and best practicesSupport guest services such as back-up cashier, order pick up (OPU) and Drive up (DU) and maintain a compliance culture while executing those duties, such as federal, state, and local adult beverage lawsAll other duties based on business needsWHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
