Translate business issues, strategic objectives, and end-user requirements into effective facility/work environment solutions that will maximize space utilization and efficiency.
Manage all space related requests by facilitating discussions with stakeholders and end users to understand the nature of the request, identify the space requirements and evaluate the suitability of occupied and vacant spaces for laboratory service(s) and/or office programming.
Establish and maintain key relationships with Executive Leadership and corporate support groups including Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS), Physical Security, IT, and Corporate Sustainability and DEI to develop scenario planning and options analysis.
Collect and organize customer information on headcount projections, organizational structure, and facilities requirements.
Update and maintain facilities management database for occupancy reporting and space allocations
Drive facility occupancy rates consistent with workspace guidance
Develop scope of work definition documents such as space programs, budgets, schedules, and resource requirements based on stakeholder needs consistent with standards and objectives
Establish & Maintain ULS 3+ year Real Property strategy and investment planning.
Engage and leverage appropriate project implementation resources whether internal or external.
Provide electronic plans, requirements and specifications to in-house personnel and outside contractors engaged in the planning, design and or execution of new construction or renovation
Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Architecture, Engineering, Science, Business, or other technical discipline required. Alternatively, equivalent and relevant experience can be considered.
Minimum 10 years of experience in a facility/occupancy planning role.
Minimum 10 years of demonstrated applied facility project management experience and an overall knowledge of capital planning and delivery process. Knowledge and past history supporting laboratory space and equipment.
Knowledge of and ability to apply expertise in facilities management practices and space management policies, standards and procedures of a large, complex business or organization, preferably in research laboratories, including applicable internal policies and procedures and pertinent laws and regulations.
Ability to understand and analyze complex problems from a future-oriented and broad interactive perspective and readily develop proactive solutions that integrate strategic goals into tactical operations.
Must possess strong interpersonal skills, be relentless in the drive for results and be willing to advocate positions with limited support.
Ability to work either independently or with groups with minimal direction.
Experience in multi-project and multi-customer environments is highly valued.
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with senior leadership (ability to create and present reports, set up and facilitate meetings, etc.)
Excellent analytical skills and demonstrated ability to analyze data and summarize results.
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office products and space planning software
Experience with LeaseCalcs and LeaseCalcs ReAct is preferred but not required
Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships between internal and external functional groups with competing and changing priorities and with limited direct authority.
Knowledge of customer and/or facilities master plans including space planning and current trends in workplace design.
Must be able to speak, read and write English to a level to communicate technical and business information effectively.
