　　This position may work closely with the Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations (OCED) which is a multi-technology office responsible for overseeing more than $27B of investment in large scale demonstrations in emerging technologies such as clean hydrogen, carbon capture, advanced nuclear reactors, grid-scale energy storage, industrial emissions reductions as well as demonstrations in rural and socioeconomically disadvantaged regions.

　　This position is remote, with the expectation that candidates can work during Eastern Time Zone office hours. Residency in the United States is a mandatory requirement.

　　Job Responsibilities:

　　Conduct independent engineering / due diligence technical advisory reviews of the environmental health and safety aspects of clean energy technologies and projects

　　Able to evaluate the environmental health and safety aspects of project

　　Identify key gaps / needs as it relates to environmental health and safety aspects of project

　　Identify project risks and risks mitigants of environmental health and safety of projects

　　Articulate recommendations for improvement (when necessary)

　　Work in teams and independently to provide engineering expertise on environmental health and safety aspects of projects

　　Draft independent engineering / due diligence reports on evaluated systems

　　Able to draft a data table and risk table (as part of an independent engineering / due diligence report or otherwise)

　　Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication – communicating succinctly and clearly

　　Liaise with a variety of stakeholders when providing engineering expertise (e.g., clients, technology providers, regulatory agencies.)

　　Qualifications:

　　This position is remote, with the expectation that candidates can work during Eastern Time Zone office hours. Residency in the United States is a mandatory requirement

　　Bachelor’s Degree (arts or science) in a field supporting environmental, health, and safety education

　　Background in industrial EH&S systems

　　Experience providing independent engineering, technical advisory, or due diligence

　　Minimum of 10 years’ experience practicing in this field, preferably trained in current EH&S topics

　　Current certification in EH&S is preferred

　　Comprehensive understanding of industry-accepted Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) guidelines is a plus

　　Due to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearances requirements, US citizenship is required
