An electrical studies graduate engineerat Westwood plays a pivotal role in the design and optimization ofutility-scale renewable plants, including wind, solar, and batterystorage facilities. The focus of the electrical studies graduate engineer ison supporting senior engineers in performing comprehensive electrical systemstudies, ensuring compliance with interconnection requirements and seamlessintegration of renewable assets into the power grid.
Duties and Responsibilities
Work with senior studies engineers and design engineers to developelectrical system models to support the project design and interconnectionprocess.Develop detailed system models that accurately represent the plant andlearning to perform a variety of studies in a collaborative teamenvironment, including short circuit and effective grounding, load flowand reactive power, harmonics, insulation coordination, power and energyloss, concentric neutral induced voltage, arc flash, grounding,lightning risk assessments, and transient studies for switching andovervoltageProduce written reports conveying study results within the project schedule.No work experience is necessary for this role.Required Skills
Approximately 0 - 2 years of experience in electrical plant design andsystem studies.Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Power Systems,or a substantially similar field.Educational background and/or working knowledge of power systems,including three-phase power and electric machines.Must be detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving skills and acommitment to quality.Must be a supportive team player, capable of working effectively incross-functional teams and managing relationships with internalstakeholders, under the guidance of senior studies engineers.Must have a positive and supportive attitude who is interested in being partof a growing team.Compensation Range Minimum
