Please note that this position is contingent upon receiving a bid to manage railcar traffic in multiple locations for a major customer and employment would not begin until approximately June 1st.

The Rail Logistics Assistant of Watco Logistics is responsible for the overall “day to day” management of rail freight shipments while providing quality service to customers. It is essential for the Rail Logistics Assistant to conduct necessary activities to deliver results and garner customers’ trust. This position has various responsibilities including operational, accounting, and customer service duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING (OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED)
Track and trace customer rail shipments and send daily pipeline reports
Manage and build revenue loads in TMS
Effectively communicate with internal teams inclusive of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable on invoices, collections, and aging
Provide communication to customers, carriers, vendors, and suppliers
Process building ensuring required documents are obtained and customer invoicing requirements are met
Deliver quality service to internal and external customers
Learn the functions and operations an account
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS & ABILITIES

High School Education or a GED is required
Apply knowledge of organization, communication, conflict resolution, and time management skills
Possess basic computer skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
Ability to work with others and be a positive influence on other team members
Strong phone and email communication
Effective customer service skills and the ability to service both internal and external customers
Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment with extensive team member and supplier contact with frequent interruptions. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Sit, stand, walk, and reach with arms – Completion of paperwork, long consecutive hours of typing and using the computer, and walk to filing cabinets in the work area
Talk daily to customers, team members, vendors, etc.
Ability to hear what the team members communicate
The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Use hands to finger and feel keys on keyboards and calculators
Capability to reach with hands and arms to file, grasp, and maneuver paperwork; and/or reach and operate personal computer and office equipment
Capacity to adjust focus to operate personal computer, calculate, compile and enter information from timesheets and timecards.
