The Boeing Company is looking for an Enterprise Safety and Mission Assurance - Safety Data Analytics Manager to lead and manage the Enterprise Safety Data Analytics Team within Enterprise Safety and Mission Assurance. This position will be based out of the Everett, WA location.
Enterprise Safety and Mission Assurance team within Product & Services Safety (P&SS) Organization is part of the larger Chief Aerospace Safety Office (CASO) and is hiring a K-Level manager to focus on developing safety data analytics tools/application, capabilities, guidance and training material in support of managing product safety risk in our fleet of diverse products across the Enterprise and to develop proactive safety strategies. There are vast amounts of operational data to be mined both inside and outside of the Boeing Company and new technologies are fostering the creation of innovative tools to glean product safety information from that data. This leader will lead our Data Analytics team in alignment with the mission and vision of the Safety & Airworthiness Engineering Function's Chief Engineer office and Aerospace Safety Analytics Integrated Product Team (IPT)
The team works closely with BR&T Data Science, the Fleet Risk Management Technical Board, BDS Mission Assurance Safety Teams, BCA Product Safety & Investigation Teams, BGS Safety Teams and various other Functional teams.
The successful candidate will integrate across these diverse teams, IPTs across CASO and support the needs of Boeing programs and Business Units. A passion for safety and insight into the art of possibility in the analytics space are also highly desirable to build a strong foundation of data taxonomy and architecture.
Because of the geographically diverse nature of Enterprise Safety, the successful candidate will need to thrive in a hybrid virtual environment that leverages a collaborative culture around project management approaches like Agile & Scrum. Curiosity, Courage and Creativity will be important attributes of this leader to ensure we apply safety data intentionally towards decision making across the Enterprise.
Position Responsibilities:
Manages employees performing quantitative data analytics, including data retrieval, processing, analysis and visualization of various datasets
Guides the team in the discovery of metrics, tools and processes that can facilitate a data driven risk management approach into SMS
Provide thoughtful leadership towards creating digital thread using Safety data and connecting it to other elements within the safety ecosystem
Support Safety & Airworthiness Functional Chief Office Capability Road mapping and development initiative
Develops and strengthen relationships and partnerships with Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) across the CASO Organization, internal and external customers, regulators, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
Acquires resources for projects, provides technical management of stakeholders and leads the team in continuous improvements
Provides oversight and approval of relevant analytics and evaluative methods
Manages access to the team's safety databases and tools
Develop and presents project proposals to the Tool Governance Board and the Aerospace Safety Analytics Integrated Product Team (IPT) for approval
Develop relevant Safety Analytics related Design Practices and participate in Fleet Risk Management Technical Board
Interfaces with regulators and industry relations in support of program objectives
Oversee LRBP forecasting and O&Rs associated with development efforts
Cultivates an atmosphere of creativity and innovation

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team's discretion and could potentially change in the future.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
5+ years of engineering experience
Experience in a technical leadership or management role
Experience leading through influence and partnering with cross-functional teams on projects and initiatives
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience developing strategic and/or technical roadmaps
3+ years of experience managing cross functional teams for different business andorganizations
Experience with Data Analytics that provide deeper learning opportunities
High level understanding of applications that utilize Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning techniques
Experience with the safety data ecosystem related to product safety
Experience with the BCA Continued Operational Safety Process (COSP), hazard identification, and Safety Risk Management approaches per MIL-STD-882 and NASA-STD 8719
Experience with the art of what is possible using IT tools and visualization techniques
Experience participating on or leading Agile/Scrum teams
Strong desire to mentor, develop and grow team members
