Summary:
This position will provide technical leadership and manage the executionof multiple projects, both on-site and remotely. Reporting to CorporateSr Director of Engineering, the Capital Project Manager (CPM) role willbe an engineering and technical resource for the Materion GlobalEngineering Group focusing on the Tucson, AZ; Albuquerque, NM; andDelta, UT sites. This take-charge project manager shall have a proventrack record of leading projects and be the Corporate representative byproviding strong customer focus, building collaboration with site andother functional groups, approaching deliverables with a sense ofurgency, and driving design, construction, management and execution ofsmall to large capital projects to successful completion.
You will:
Plans and leads medium to large-sized capital projects/programs withthe ability to build and lead effective internal and externalproject teams.Manages project scope, schedules, finances, risks, and resources tomeet project objectives.Uses Front-End Loading (FEL) and/or Front-End Engineering Design(FEED), and the Stage-Gate Process for developing, leading andmanaging projects.Effectively manages equipment FATs, Installations, SATs, andstartups, including project closeout and post mortem analysis withproper handoff and signoffs.Coordinates with and influences cross-functional teams withcompeting goals to gain alignment to the overall project plan andinitiatives.Monitors project budget and resource usage, where appropriate, withaccurate spending forecast.Works with procurement on vendor selection, prequalification\'s andbid packages and overall vendor-client relationship for successfulproject execution.Facilitates change requests to ensure that all parties are informedof the impacts on schedule and budget.Makes effective presentations of technical material to non-technicalpeople, both written and verbal. Prepares projectreports/presentations for management reviews.Leads regular project reviews - communicates status of projects,risks, and actively exercises mitigation plans.Champions and models Project Management Standards and Best Practicesfor the rest of the site personnel. Provides training and coachingas needed.Requirements:
Solid understanding of project management techniques and procedures.{=html}<>- BS degree in an engineering field, e.g., Mechanical or Chemical, PMP certification is a plus.- Minimum of 10 years\' experience of engineering in manufacturing plant environment supporting and managing medium to large capital projects up to \$25M.- 5+ years\' experience in Project Management with track record of executing projects successfully, from concept to completion.- Must be proficient with MS Office, MS Project and Visio.- Strong organizational, problem solving and interpersonal skills to effectively contribute to executing projects.- Effective communication and presentation skills (verbal & written). Must be comfortable speaking with employees at all levels of the organization.- Solid knowledge of contracts (design & construction), schedules, cost estimating and the design process.- Working knowledge of SAP, SharePoint, Project Management Software is plus.- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
