Thorlabs Measurement Systems engineering team continuously designs, develops, and tests new products to add to our industry leading portfolio of metrology components. In our group the engineering technician plays a critical role in accelerating the development of our products by providing direct support to the design engineer. The location for this position is in Blairstown NJ, however it may require travel to other Thorlabs locations. Essential Job Functions include the following, but are not limited to:Participate in the design of new productsDesign and develop test and verification processesPrototype through production product testingCreate test reportsCreate Assembly Instructions and do the initial trainingCreate Engineering Change Orders and update revision controlled documentsPerform product testing based on customer inquiriesMaintain the design and development lab and equipmentBuild tradeshow demonstration In addition to the essential functions and duties listed above, all positions are also responsible for:Meeting company standards pertaining to quantity and quality of work performed on an ongoing basis, performing all work related tasks in a manner that is in compliance with all Company policies and procedures.Adhering to Company policies, procedures, and directives regarding standards of workplace behavior in completing job duties and assignments.The Company retains the right to change or assign other duties to this position.
