　　Job Goal:

　　To provide leadership in the development, implementation, and coordination of the districts elementary and secondary guidance programs. The K-12 guidance counselor is an integral part of the elementary and secondary programs and is responsible for the working with the building principals, district curriculum director, and the elementary and secondary teachers, as well as, members of the community to facilitate the optimal growth and development of each student - academically, emotionally, socially, and physically.

　　Duties and Responsibilities:

　　Defines and interprets the functions of guidance to administrators, teachers,

　　students, parents, and the public.

　　Participates in registration and orientation of students and parents new to the school

　　and follow up on students adjustment to school.

　　Aids students in course and subject selection at the secondary level, pre-registration of students, and coordinates individual students program and students schedule under the direction of the administration.

　　Organizes, monitors, and supervises the student academic record system at the secondary level.

　　Oversees the guidance programs in the elementary and secondary buildings.

　　Plans, develops, supervises, and interprets various testing programs in the elementary and secondary facilities.

　　Assists in the preparation and administration of guidance program budget.
