Position Summary:

Responsible for greeting patients and family members, identifying providers the patient will see, transports and escorts patients to and from their mode of arrival to their appointment.

Position Key Accountabilities:

Transports visitors and patients to campus locations as needed.

Provides assistance to patients, their families, and visitors entering the clinic with a positive and helpful attitude.

Confirms patient identification by verbal confirmation as needed. Greets and introduces self to patients.

Identify provider and/or Division the patient will be seen in and escorts or provides directions.

Safely assists with patient transfer to wheelchairs or other assistive devices.

Maintains work area with a focus on cleanliness, organization and adequate stock levels.

Reports malfunctioning transportation equipment to appropriate service department.

Communicates with administrative and clinical staff as needed to facilitate patient appointment.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Certification/Skills:

Ability to communicate effectively with patients/visitors with excellent verbal and written skills. Ability to perform routine wayfinding duties. Ability to operate durable medical equipment and familiar with personal protective equipment. Proficient in keyboarding.

Minimum Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required. Vocational or business school diploma or certification preferred.

Minimum Experience:

None. Experience in a clinic or medical office preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds frequently and/or up to 20 pounds constantly to move objects.

Residency Requirement:

Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
