The primary role of the Electrical Engineer is to specialize in power system studies. Additionally, they will have strong experience with low & medium-voltage power distribution and base building design (i.e., power distribution equipment, cable tray, lighting, fire alarm, and emergency system design), and will execute reliability-based capital projects for equipment replacement. The Electrical Engineer will be a subject matter expert for all Altium electrical systems and relevant utility systems.
Essential Functions- Roles/Responsibilities• Perform Short Circuit, Coordination & Arc Flash studies using ETAP or EasyPower. • Perform site data collection when required.• Provide Final Reports for arc flash hazard analysis and prepare labels for equipment• Perform Harmonics & Power Factor Correction Studies.• Support multiple electrical engineering projects from conception though design, installation and start-up with varying milestones.• Support the design and installation of electrical and mechanical production systems.• Carry out such other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Engineering Services Manager.• Troubleshoot and provide solutions to various facility infrastructure issues.• Support project estimates for developing funding requests.• Develop equipment and construction specifications.• Develop standards and standard installation details.• Provide technical expertise to plant and corporate personnel.• Ability to provide technical support on-site or remotely
Required Education and Experience • B.S. in Electrical Engineering• 3-5 years electrical engineering experience, including power system studies experience; EasyPower, SKM, or ETAP for Short Circuit, Coordination & Arc Flash studies.• Familiarity with technical drawings, electrical codes, and engineering standards (OESC, NEC/NFPA, IEEE, and NETA).• Modify Single Line Drawing using AutoCAD.• Capital project management (less than $500k)• Safety conscious with willingness to learn Electrical Lockout/Tag-out procedures and gain Electrical Safety Awareness.• Exercise due diligence in the care and operation of corporate assets.• Excellent analytical skills• Excellent written and verbal communication skills• Willingness to travel up to 50%Preferred Education and Experience• Knowledge of blow molding equipment and blow molding operations• Knowledge of plant apparatus and utility equipment used in the blow molding manufacturing process.• Knowledge of the decorating and packaging equipment used in manufacturing plastic containers, particularly bottles• Knowledge of plastic resins and resin handling equipment
