As an Early Career Nondestructive Assay (NDA) Technical Support Engineer in Richland, WA (remote work will also be considered), you will be part of the proven team in the Fuel Business Unit. Your work will include:Learn how to operate and troubleshoot non-destructive assay equipment as a part of your duties as a processes engineer.Direct others in their duties and responsibilitiesBecome a subject matter expert (SME) in the operation, resource planning, utilization and support of ISO-CARTTM NDA services for assay of contaminated material or for material free-release. Provide NDA technical measurement oversight.Support Gamma Ray Analysis for free-release of items as requested by Health Safety Technicians (HST).Interface with internal organizations including Waste Operations, Radiological Controls, Nuclear Material Control & Accountability (NMC&A), Nuclear Material Shipping & Receiving (NMS&R), and other parties.NDA gamma ray analysis ISO-CART operation in support of waste assay and equipment free releaseMaintaining qualifications and certifications for all waste related activitiesIdentifying root cause of NDA measurement issues and implement corrective actionsLearn and utilizing certain key software packages - SAP, NIMS, Waste databaseEnsuring compliance with government, organization, and customer standards, provide support and instructions to Plant Support and Waste techniciansWorking on special projects as directed, and performing other related duties and tasks, as required.This position requires occasional travel.
