Principal Duties
As an Assistant Finance Division Director,you will:
Assist the Director of Finance with overseeing the development,coordination,monitoring,evaluation,and/or review of plans and criteria,implementation of ideas,programs or changes in operations.Develop and coordinate policies and procedures,resources and mission,as well as goals,vision,and expectations of financial projects,programs and functions; prepares and updates plans and priorities.Prepare and defend budget recommendations,requests,reports,proposals and/or projections.Direct and coordinate accounting and billing functions.Manage and coordinate specialized fiscal functions or audits,projects,or activities of a highly unique or specialized nature with broad scope or impact for the DABS Department and Division of Finance.Review and report on agency fiscal activities,and provide suggestions for improvements and policy corrections or updates.Analyze,summarize and/or review data,report findings,interpret results and/or make recommendations.Develop and implement special control or reporting practices,or other specific time-limited or special-focus studies or projects.Develop and prepare,or supervise the preparation of special reports of fiscal activities such as year-end fiscal reports,Commission financial reports,financial and analytical reports to the Legislature,Governor s Office,and other stakeholder agencies.Work with auditors,agency fiscal staff,or others to develop,implement,and improve agency financial operations to coincide with state fiscal reporting requirements and Division of Finance policies and procedures. Plan and allocate resources to ensure agency policies and state statutes are fully implemented.Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws.Supervise subordinate personnel in either a traditional or matrix management structure,including: hiring,determining workload and delegating assignments,training,monitoring and evaluating performance,and initiating corrective or disciplinary actions.The Ideal Candidate
Experience with FINET,Dynamics 365 F&O,and other financial ERP solutions.Experience in management/employee supervision.Experience in transmitting data between,and reconciling diverse general ledger systems.Experience monitoring agency or program budget including revenues,expenditures and budget projections,etc.3+ years of experience in financial or performance audits (experience with Government Auditing Standards preferred).Ability to demonstrate analytical and diagnostic skills while breaking down complex issues to implement appropriate solutions.Time management skills to handle multiple projects at the same time.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Able to pass the required background check.21 years of age or older.Preference may be given to applicants who have:
A Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting,Finance,or a closely related field ORFive or more years of experience in financial management OREarned their CPA,CGFM,CMA or are actively working towards licensure.
