As a Group Talent Leader, you play a key role in ensuring the business has the talent strategies and pipeline needed to support our strategic growth objectives.
Acting as the talent platform's 'face' to the business, you will partner with Business and Human Resources Leaders to shape, scope, plan and lead the delivery of an integrated talent strategy that supports the business strategy for a defined client group. You will help ensure we attract, develop, and retain exceptional talent in alignment with our core Talent processes and programs.
What will you do?
Your primary accountability will be to drive the business talent strategy for your client group as the main point of contact on all Talent Management, Talent Development and early talent initiatives and programs. Your responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Establish the Group's overall talent strategy, approach, and processes to build an enduring, deep, and diverse pipeline of future leaders within the Groups and across Thermo Fisher in partnership with the Group HRVPDrive all activities associated with core corporate talent processes across the Group and Divisions including HRR and an ongoing cadence of talent reviews.Lead short and long-term projections of leadership vacancies in partnership with Executive Talent and Core Capability leaders to ensure appropriate strategic career planning is in place.Partner closely with Group & Region Talent Leaders to identify prioritize and collectively address the most critical talent priorities with high impact talent solutions.Support and promote all Talent Development programs including internship and undergraduate/graduate leadership programs to build emerging talent, GM, Operations, and Sales pipelines.Work with the Talent Platform, HR, and Business Leaders to create/reinforce a culture of career growth and talent mobility across the company.Apply tools created in the Talent Platform to build and actively assess workforce plans in partnership with the HRVPs to systematically and proactively avoid talent surpluses or shortages given the organization's short and long-term objectives.Partner closely with Talent Acquisition to stay ahead of key open requisitions, prioritize critical roles to be filled, and be a motivator for actively moving high potential internal talent into open roles.Partner closely with Talent Development to identify needs unique to the Group & Divisions, deploy centrally driven solutions and develop group specific talent initiatives as needed.Partner with the Talent Platform to ensure managers at all levels excel at identifying, selecting, onboarding, and assimilating exceptional new talent into the organization to reduce attrition and enhance productivity.Provide thoughtful consultation to the Group and Divisional HRBPs on specialist TM topics (org design, organizational planning, org development)Develop strategies to retain and empower talent, including thought partnership and planning on yearly involvement surveys and engagement-related initiatives.
How will you get here?
The ideal candidate for this role enjoys building rapport with the business and HR leaders to establish the talent strategy and then partnering to implement those plans. You will be an authority at building and maintaining collaborator relationships and confident to act as the talent management 'face' for your Group. You will be highly effective at striking a balance between company processes and programs and the unique needs of the business while prioritizing the highest impact talent solutions.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field (a higher degree is highly regarded).
Experience
10+ years' experience in human resources and/or talent management within a large fortune 300 global organizationDemonstrated ability to develop, communicate and implement talent strategies linked to business strategy and based in talent analytics.Prior experience leading projects and programs within a matrixed organizational environmentExcellent leadership and relationship management skills with the ability to influence at multiple organizational levels and lead executive level discussions.Prior experience as an HRBP and/or developing and delivering leadership development initiatives would be highly regarded.
