  Where we need help

  The Senior Payroll Analyst is responsible for processing full-cycle payroll to ensure employee compensation is timely, accurate and compliant in a multi-state environment. These responsibilities include calculation, preparation, and review of payroll while ensuring compliance with company policy and procedure as well as federal, state, and local payroll labor and tax regulations. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, show an initiative to learn, embrace a collaborative approach, and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

   

  What does the job entail?

  Prepare and process bi-weekly payrolls and termination calculations ensuring a proper audit trail Calculate and process bonuses and other off cycle payrolls as needed Understand and ensure compliance with all federal, multi-state and local payroll regulations. Perform timely updates to tax rates, respond to agency tax notices, research and coordinate tax jurisdictional registrations and updates Manage W-2s and other tax reporting compliance for all employees Oversee system upgrades and enhancements. Coordinate system changes with ADP Customer Support to adhere to time and attendance updates, earnings and benefit deductions, and custom report creation and changes. Assist management with design and implementation of internal control measures and periodic review of compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley and company payroll related policies. Support access management and change control over payroll system Prepare regular management reports, including per pay period, quarterly and year-end reports (Gross Payroll, Hours Worked, Time Off Activity and Balances, Tax Deductions, Benefit Deductions, etc.) Post 401K contributions accordingly Maintain standard operating procedures and creates redundancy within Finance team through cross-training. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops Assist with ad hoc tasks as assigned and perform other duties as directed Respond to employees emails and inquiries in a timely manner Assist in new policy roll-outs Assist in quarterly reviews and annual audits  

  What kind of person are we looking for? (bullet points)

  BA/BS or equivalent Minimum of 5+ years of direct, relevant experience in payroll operations (minimum 2 years’ experience using ADP Workforce Now) Extensive knowledge of ADP Workforce Now, Time-off and Time & Attendance systems Experience and proficiency with federal and state labor laws, such as the Fair Labor Standards Act, Equal Pay Act, state wage and hour regulations, federal and state payroll tax code, etc. is required. Highly skilled with the use of payroll/compensation systems as well as productivity tools such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point and programs that aid in analysis, communication, performance monitoring, etc. Maintain employee trust and protect operations by keeping information confidential. Retail experience is a plus Strong analytical skills, detail-oriented and ability to multi-task Superior written and verbal communication skills as well as interpersonal skills Highly motivated and able to thrive under pressure Team player, with a positive attitude, who is pro-active and owns accountability Shares company values and vision and is excited by the challenge of working in a dynamic start-up environment  

  What can we offer? 

  The pay range for this role is: $90,000 - $100,000 and must be performed in our San Francisco, CA corporate office. 

  Allbirds routinely evaluates pay rates, and the ranges are subject to change based on market rates and other considerations.  We factor in a number of components when determining starting pay, including the job and level you are hired into, location, skillset, experience, and peer compensation.
