Opportunity OMG\'s RoofingProducts Division is a market-leading manufacturer of rooftopaccessories, adhesives, and fastening systems that secure low sloperoofing assemblies on commercial and industrial buildings. Reporting tothe Senior Vice President of the Roofing Products division, The Directorof Technical Services is accountable for evaluating applications andensuring that OMG products meet requirements and are used safely. TheDirector of Technical Services is responsible for managing code andapproval compliance and participating in industry technicalorganizations to gain awareness of developments in building envelopetechnology and must be well versed in the application of the productsthat OMG produces. The Director of Technical Services also leads anddevelops the Technical Services Team, which is responsible forsupporting customers when application questions arise and training thefield sales and support team on best practices related to OMG products\'installation and use. Responsibilities -Promote Safety as the Number OnePriority of all OMG employees. -Manage testing and documentation to meetindustry and market approval requirements, including program managementwith agencies such as Factory Mutual, Miami Dade County, UnderwritersLaboratories, and others. -Identify and communicate any developmentsthat could impact the marketability of OMG products from a technicalstandpoint. -Regularly review the competitive approvals landscape andidentify ways to differentiate OMG products. -Manage the TechnicalServices Team to ensure all technical communication is accurate,consistent, and supportable with data. -Manage product liability andwarranty support, including claim review and negotiation. -Work withProduct Managers to deliver the technical support required to compete inthe marketplace effectively. -Support new product development projects.-Leverage technical product and application expertise to be a trustedpartner and to reinforce OMG\'s standing as a technical leader withinthe roofing industry. -Deliver responsive support to our customers tostrengthen our partnerships and increase our value as a supplier.-Manage the Technical Services budget. -Adhere to all employee policiesand procedures to ensure consistent management practices. RequirementsBachelor\'s Degree (Mechanical or Civil Engineering preferred) orcombination of relevant education and experience. Excellent oral andwritten communication skills. Strong organizational skills and attentionto detail. Demonstrated success in a customer service environment.Experience supporting a field sales team in a technical capacity a plus.Basic construction aptitude. Any hands-on and/or roofing experience aplus! Computer literate Ability to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch,crawl, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls,reach with hands and arms, climb or balance; and regularly lift and moveup to 35 pounds. Good close vision and depth perception skills. Abilityto travel as warranted by the workload, could be up to 35% of the time.
