The Director is a full-time, year-round, staffposition, which reports to the Vice President for Enrollment Managementand Student Success. The position often requires work hours that matchthe centers hours of operation (ex. 10am-7pm).
Located in William Allen White Library on the ESU campus, ACES exists toenhance the student success of ESU students by providing free peertutoring, embedded tutoring for specific classes, writing and researchassistance, and individual and small group academic workshops andsuccess coaching to meet the academic support needs of our diversestudent population. The Director of ACES provides leadership andimplementation for all ACES activities, services, and CRLAcertification. Additionally, this position will direct the overalloperation of the Center, including hiring tutors, meetings with studentsone-on-one, and assessment of student success initiatives, especially asthey pertain to retention, progression, and graduation rates.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leadership Responsibilities:
Participate in campus committees and other meetings pertinent to ACESand/or ESU student success
Plan for the future: Create and develop efforts to increase studentsuccess for changing demographics
Identify opportunities, partnerships and initiatives to further ACESsgoals and grow ACESs offerings in support of student success
Serve as a liaison and resource to faculty and academic affairs
Provide leadership to the personnel and for the services of ACES
Train ACES team regarding CRLA Certifications
Programming Responsibilities:
Create, organize, and revise student success programs and services asneeded
Facilitate, analyze, and address assessments of all ACES initiatives andservices
Work with faculty, tutors and students to determine the specific needsto support students
Schedule, track, and market ACES services
Administrative Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary point of contact for the instructional functions ofACES, including tutoring services, embedded tutoring, academicassessment preparation, coaching and workshops
Develop and administer the budget including grants and donor funds
Administer financial tasks, including processing of timesheets forpayroll and purchasing supplies
Write and renew the CRLA level I, II and III certifications
