The duties listed below are not all of the duties that may be assigned but are those that are considered as essential for an employee to perform.
Core Support: Implement and maintain XenApp and XenDesktop environment, virtual hypervisor, and cloud computing systems. Install, patch, upgrade, update, and document system environment, advancing integration and translation of information to promote productivity and efficiency.Virtual System Management: Assist with development, implementation and maintenance of virtual templates for virtual desktop infrastructure and core enterprise applications.Collaborative Efforts: Collaborates with internal staff, vendors, and other stakeholders to execute technical solutions to business problems. Build strong relationships with our vendors and with the departments we support. Work with colleagues in the development of highly available systems.Customer Service: Serve as a Tier 3 liaison between user departments and other outside enterprises such as value-added vendors, service providers, certificate authorities, and other governmental agencies. Provides support for the virtual infrastructure by investigating and troubleshooting incidents and issues to resolution and providing well documented status updates.Preventive Maintenance: Ensures that corrective and preventative measures are performed on existing systems to reduce the likelihood of problem recurrence. Keep virtual systems (desktops and servers, specifically) upgraded to or above minimal viable standards.Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors Degree and 1 year of experience or an Associates Degree and 2 years of experience in the design, installation and maintenance of virtualization hardware and software.
Must meet one of the following sets of requirements:
CompTIA Network+, Security+, or equivalent certification in virtualization. Verification of full understanding of virtual machine technologies including Citrix, AS, Azure or equivalent cloud storage solutions.
Comprehension of Gaston County's latest solutions or virtual solutions not yet used.
Additional Information
Minimally qualified applicants will be brought in at 25% of the salary range: $66,421.16
The candidates selected must undergo a criminal background check and pass a drug screening test prior to employment.
