Monday – Friday, mostly business hours. Some flexible shifts are required, early morning arrivals (7:00 AM) and evening departures (no later than 8:30 PM) but not both on the same day. This position requires mostly in-person presence, located at the Eccles Health Science Education Building 25 S 2000 E SLC , UT 84115. Hybrid work arrangements may be available.

Job Summary
The Kristen Ries, MD, Clinical Care Center at the Eccles Health Science Education Building ( EHSEB ) constitutes a technologically intensive facility, designed to support clinical education, utilizing standardized patients. The student/standardized patient experience is managed using a system that captures real-time, a video/audio record of the experience for review by the student and/or instructor, provides facility management and tracks student performance.
This Technology Program Coordinator position plans, implements, and supports the simulation program events in the Clinical Care Center at the EHSEB with multidisciplinary educators and learners from across Health Sciences at the University of Utah. The Technology Program Coordinator operates technology and equipment and provides simulation program support to faculty, students, and all users in the center.
This position has no responsibility for providing direct care to patients.

Responsibilities
Oversees daily operations and coordinates simulation program activities by setting up simulation rooms including equipment, IT programs, video, headphones, PCs, telephones, microphones, and other required systems to ensure successful and timely execution of educational learning experiences, events, and performance evaluations.Ensures all 23 exam rooms are fully stocked, equipped, sterilized, and set up ready for use before the client arrives; assigns and communicates the exam rooms being used daily according to the master schedule.First-line data entry for IT system(s) (i.e. new students, course exam material, Door Notes, Standardized Patient Evaluations, Faculty Scoring Rubrics, and Write Up templates).Runs the IT system in the Clinical Center for events including digital video cameras, AV announcements, and monitoring station equipment; adjusting up to 46 cameras for the best angle of exam rooms to ensure the ability to verify exam maneuvers executed by learners during video playback.Sets up the recording system and verifies exam flow(s) prior to each event; verifies multiple station exam information is properly functioning and set up according to exam needs prior to the event.Provides support for the recording system, troubleshooting problems that may arise during events, seeks support from internal management and often acts as the liaison with the offsite technical support team when necessary about technical issues; documents and follows up after events with issues to ensure a fix has been implemented.Acts as ‘voice’ over the PA system for scheduled educational events and exams; provides timely announcements as the master control of when to begin and end timed events; simultaneously adjusts double camera views of the exam rooms to ensure the best views possible for recorded events.Provides care, periodic maintenance, and repairs (as appropriate) of simulation center equipment and/or submits work orders for appropriate maintenance; under minimal supervision maintains cleanliness and order of specialized equipment and supplies.Assists faculty with all technological equipment, headphones, exam rubrics, and other required systems to ensure a successful and timely observation of students taking tests/exams.Provides training on recording systems and equipment as needed.Prepares event and exam reports from the recording system and manages the proper confidential distribution of material.Ensures required exam room supplies, linen, office supplies, all physical equipment, and inventory are ordered and stocked in the center.Arrange facility maintenance of all equipment (lights, faucets, exam table functionality, etc.) and maintain thorough and accurate records of all inventory/equipment used in the department, age of the equipment, cost of the equipment, and vendors; recommend replacements when needed.Assist in managing department safety and contingency plans.Participate in U of U Committees as requested.Other general duties and functions as assigned.DISCLAIMER

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus one year directly related experience or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience). Demonstrated ability to work independently, analyze and make decisions related to program content. Strong coordination and organizational skills required to prioritize conflicting deadlines. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills are also required.
