RESPONSIBILITIES: The Cook prepares and cooks meals for children, volunteers, and staff. This position works in a professional manner with Head Start staff, parents, children, and outside community monitors such as the local Public Health Food Inspector and the CACFP program monitors. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: *Prepare breakfast, lunch, and snacks service meals following standardized menus approved by the Registered Dietician. *Follow established health and food safety procedures including monitoring and ensuring appropriate food temperatures. *Maintain proper sanitary procedures in accordance with Head Start Performance Standards, Rule 3, and county public health requirements. *Compile kitchen consumable supply inventories and complete paperwork according to CACFP requirements outlined in SOP s. *Attend scheduled pre-services, in-services, First Aid and CPR courses, trainings, and staff meetings. Assist with recruitment efforts of Head Start children annually.
