What’s a typical day as a Material Handler? You’ll be:
• Assessing material needs and developing forecasts for the assigned production area at the beginning of the shift and ordering materials to support the production schedule.
• Transporting materials, including raw materials, components, packaging materials, finished goods, and/or scrap, to/from the production floor.
• Completing required paperwork to accompany outgoing materials such as intercompany bills-of-lading.
• Preparing outgoing materials using a variety of methods including scanning, labeling, and wrapping.
• Unpacking and checking goods received against purchase orders or invoices, maintaining records of received goods, and rejecting unsatisfactory items.
• Lifting heavy items and operating a forklift or pallet jack.
• Posting weights and shipping charges.
This job might be an outstanding fit if you:
• Have experience operating sit-down and stand-up forklifts.
• Are able to follow established procedures to accomplish tasks.
• Have the ability to lift heavy items.
• Are detail-oriented and able to maintain accurate records.
