Description Robert Half is helping a renowned services company find an ambitious candidate to fill the role of a Controller. In this leadership role, you will manage an accounting and clerical department. The Controller plans and directs all accounting operational functions, manages the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, analyzes accounting and internal control systems, and guides departmental staff. The permanent Controller position is situated in the Bingham Farms, Michigan area.

　　Your responsibilities

　　Guide all operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

　　Manage the creation of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them on a monthly basis

　　Assess, execute and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

　　Respond on items beyond formal job responsibilities

　　Check deliverables of self and team to certify they meet client expectations

　　Prepare cash-flow reports that project cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and handle daily cash management

　　Manage the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is on time

　　Perform tasks associated with month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis

　　Support Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, with research, planning, and implementation, as required

　　Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure efficient and successful firm-wide operation

　　Present executive committee and partners with monthly financial reports Requirements - Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills

　　BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

　　Solid understanding of month end closings

　　Outstanding analytical, quantitative and social skills

　　CPA/MBA preferred

　　Earlier experience in public accounting is highly valued

　　Prior work in technology, analytics and management experience desired

　　Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment

　　Excellent attention to detail

　　5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

　　Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines

　　Skilled in the construction and delivery of effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds

　　Excellent verbal, written, and social skills
