  HUB International is growing and we are looking for a Consultant or Senior Consultant, Employee Benefits to join our dynamic Benefits Consulting Practice based anywhere in BC supporting medium to large sized clients. Our team prides ourselves on providing our clients with superior service and essential advice. Our commitment to our clients is to create affordable, competitive, and sustainable plans that allow them in turn to enhance employee acquisition and retention. The Consultant or Senior Consultant, Employee Benefits role is a strong client manager. This role reports to the Associate Vice President.

  The Senior Consultant, Employee Benefits works collaboratively with others on the client team and is a main point of contact for the client. This role provides a great client experience.

  Job Responsibilities: Maintaining service and revenue accountability for medium to large sized clients Building knowledge, staying informed about other lines of business and identifying cross selling opportunities Ensuring delivery of high-quality work that meets client needs, including: Analyzing financial and claims information relating to benefits plans, annual renewals and client proposals Evaluating the cost and design competitiveness of client benefit plans Negotiating service and premium rate agreements with insurance providers Delivering presentations to clients; conducts client meetings Reviewing and providing advice related to benefit plan contracts and documentation Managing multiple clients and/or providing support for large clients Building and maintaining excellent relations with clients and internal colleagues Leading client meetings and presenting work to clients Identifying problems and implementing proactive and creative solutions Interpreting benefits legislation and standards and educating team members as appropriate Managing the relationship between clients, administrators, insurance providers and team Acting as a mentor to team members, supporting their growth and development Leading internal training sessions to build knowledge of industry topics and trends Participating in external training and industry conferences and seminars Participating in special projects as required Acting as a resource to the Employee Benefits Practice Growing and building business with current and prospective clients Qualifications and Required Experience: Bachelor's Degree/College Diploma in Human Resources, Actuarial Sciences, or related discipline Over 5 years of experience in Group Benefits or Group Insurance Industry Active LLQP is an asset FCIA or actuarial student is an asset CEBS an asset Strong mathematical analytical skills Strong Employee Benefits Consultancy experience Prior new business development experience; an asset Advanced Proficiency in MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook Excellent communication, project management, collaboration, presentation and negotiation skills Experience working in a high-paced, growth environment Bilingual in English and French an asset Travel for client travel (less than 25%), team meetings and industry events Core Values: Entrepreneurship - encouraging innovation and educate risk taking Integrity - doing things right every time Teamwork - working together to maximize results Accountability - measure and take responsibility for outcomes Service - serving customers, communities, and colleagues HUB International offers a full spectrum of insurance and related services, including Property/Casualty, Home & Auto, Employee Benefits, Wealth Management and Risk Services, to a large and diverse client base.
