The Compensation and Compliance Manager position develops, implements, and administers programs and policies related to compensation and compliance. In this role, you'll be responsible for evaluating compensation including internal equity and external competitiveness, administration of compensation programs, adherence to compensation philosophy, creating a total rewards statement and legal compliance of the organization's pay practices. The incumbent is also responsible for establishing, communicating, and maintaining policies and practices in compliance with statutory regulations in all 45 states where Smart Care does business. These laws include wage & hour, paid family/sick leave, COVID protocols, and other employment processes. This role is also responsible for annual EEOC and VETS 100 reporting and Affirmative Action plans. The incumbent ensures compensation and compliance programs and associated training are meeting business needs and support overall HR and business strategy while maintaining the company's competitive advantage. Responsibilities include: COMPENSATION Advise HRBPs, Managers and Recruiters across the enterprise on compensation related needs from internal customers on day-to-day compensation administration, strategic re-organizations and when new roles need to be created. Consult with Talent Acquisition team for compensation for new positions Partner and provide expertise and leadership on developing, designing, and administering compensation programs, processes and incentive plans (sales, variable bonuses, equity, etc.) Lead and complete large and complex compensation projects and manage vendor relationships. Participates on cross-functional teams representing the Compensation team Manage annual compensation administration processes (e.g. merit) Develop career ladders within existing job architecture Maintain and update salary ranges based upon internal and external market factors Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local compensation laws and regulations Complete market pricing as needed using available market pricing tools Stay abreast of market trends, including salary surveys, industry trends, and other compensation analyses (includes gender, legal pay practices, equity, pay gap, etc.) Update, manage and drive decisions about training and communication needs on compensation and compliance related topics COMPLIANCE Work closely with the HR team, legal advisors, and business teams to manage emerging risks, complex employment requirements, and workplace policy expectations. Provide communication and training regarding legal requirements, best practices, and changes to employment-related policies, processes, and procedures. Lead delivery of HR compliance programs such as HR Policy governance, audits, Form I-9/E-Verify, EEO, Affirmative Action and HR Privacy. Maintain a working knowledge of applicable laws and regulations relevant to the enterprise geographic footprint (currently 45 states) to ensure company compliance. Identify new, existing, and revised employment and labor laws, regulations, and enforcement activity, analyzes compliance risk and recommends policy and procedural changes to HR Leadership. Build and maintain a strong working knowledge of HR processes to enable change and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements. Pull data for and complete all required annual compliance reporting. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field 5+ years of broad experience in compensation practices and administration 3+ years of experience leading complex, multi-jurisdictional HR Compliance responsibilities. Demonstrated strong analytical, quantitative problem-solving, critical thinki g and data modeling, reporting and analysis skills with an ability to synthesize information from a variety of sources, draw meaningful conclusions and make appropriate recommendations Contribute strategic thinking on complex and challenging situations Detail-orientation and strong customer service mind-set Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, calculations, etc.) Leverage HRIS technology to improve efficiency and effectiveness Proficient with Word and PowerPoint Excellent oral and written communication skills, especially focused on conveying complex information in an approachable manner to all audiences Preferred Experience: Sales compensation experience Workday experience About Smart Care Smart Care is a national repair and service provider for commercial foodservice, refrigeration, and cold storage equipment.
